Poster Art by OXO
Some of my early posterwork includes:
The Cavalier Series - computer-generated color posterwork for various musical events at the Cavalier Lounge of the Finlen Hotel in Butte. The production of the posters was done at first by hand in limited editions, with each individual poster's production time kept and marked on the back. By employing stencils, spray can paint, markers, and a copy machine, I was able to do some as a hand-drawn medium with limited editions of each event's poster. The posters in this series were exhibited in a one-person show at the Frame Gallerie in Butte in June 1998.
"Live On Stage At The OXO Foundation", a commemorative poster for the "Party of The Decade Party" (1993 -Thirteen years after the event)
"Obligatory/Imaginary Butte Scene", "Nine-Hundred Horsepower Salad Bar", "Self-Propelled Ozone Generator", "Blind Frank", "Van De Graff Canine Network", and others. Various dates from 1990-1995.
More recent works include:
Evel Knievel Days - (2002 to 2007) - I was Art Director for the inaugural event held in Butte July 29-August 3, 2002, and produced the official poster, commemorative lapel pin, Social Tickets, flyers, display cards, and all other printed ephemera related to the event. I have continued this work on five subsequent events.
Spanky Spangler Jumps Off The Finlen Hotel On Fire! - (August 2, 2002). I did the commemorative poster for this event, which was in tribute to Evel Knievel as a part of Evel Knievel Week. In subsequent events I did posters for Spanky's "Flying Car Crash" (2003), his "150-Foot Crane Jump" (2004), and his "Hot Air Balloon Jump" (2005).
Pioneer Street Rods Custom Car Shows: I produced the official event posters for the car shows of 1999-2003.
